Final month of the year. This past week went by in a blur, or that’s how it feels. There’s always a lot of activity at the last part of November. We celebrated my son’s nineteenth birthday on Thursday and ate lots of good food (I cooked mustard greens for the first time because collards were nowhere to be found lol and ohmygosh oh my gosh those mustard greens were soooooo good). The weekend was fairly restful. The football team won their last game of the season so they are bowl eligible. And yesterday, we celebrated my fifty-first birthday.
It was a new moon, and that moon crossed my natal sun directly. That was cool. My fiftieth year as a whole from start to finish was pretty wonderful in so many ways; I was a little sad to see it go. But I am happy to review all that’s happened. Net positives, and I’m glad. My energy has been a lot more on/off since the end of the summer, but yesterday, it was on and I was happy about that. I was able to do a little bit of writing and enjoyed all the time with my family.
There were some IG story memories that popped up from the archive that I shared on a past birthday and had actually forgotten (this perimenopausal brain fog really kicks my ass). Glad to see them again. Of course, I don’t remember the events in these pictures as I was one and two years old and five minutes old, but I loved seeing the kitchen in my childhood home again. I loved seeing that old, huge kitchen table. I loved seeing my cousin and my dad. I wonder if my mom was the one behind the camera.
This month is going to involve a lot of down time for me. I can already tell. But I will do what I do every year and look back on highlights of the year and make my annual “favorite songs of the year” list.
Speaking of which, I hadn’t shared any lists with you this month. Lots going on around here and in general and I didn’t realize. Here’s October.
And here’s November.
The last list of the year will be the year-end list and wow I can’t believe (I never can lol) the year is in its final weeks. Feels like just yesterday when I was watching that Katt Williams interview lol, and look at what all has happened since then.
